THOMAS HOLLOWAY
FACULTY SUPERVISOR OF THE CPMT

Mr. Holloway is a CFA Charterholder and faculty supervisor of the CPMT. In addition to running the CPMT program, he is a full-time faculty member instructing finance and corporate governance classes at Haskayne School of Business. Tom also coaches the CFA Investment Research Challenge, Montreal Investment Portfolio Challenge, and CFA Ethics Challenge teams, while additionally serving on the Swim Alberta Board and Alberta EcoTrust Investment Committee.

Tom is a Portfolio Manager at Genus Capital Management, a portfolio manager geared towards Canadian institutions and families, where he leads digital wealth services. Before joining Haskayne and Genus, Tom was a partner and key member of one of Canada's top institutional fixed income teams at Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel where he helped to support growth in fixed income assets from under $2B to over $4B.
Hashim Chawhdry
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR AT ICM ASSET MANAGEMENT

Hashim Chawhdry joined ICM Asset Management in 2024 to build and lead the firm’s capital markets function. His role connects the investment and asset management team with the sales team, and he is involved in deal execution, portfolio management, investor relations and capital-raising activities.
Hashim began his career after graduating from the University of Calgary, spending seven years across two global investment banking platforms. This experience gave him a strong foundation in capital markets, transaction execution and client advisory. He later moved into strategy and corporate development at a Toronto-based investment fund focused on consumer packaged goods, broadening his work across business planning and investment evaluation.​
Diana Chaw
PORTFOLIO MANAGER AT QV INVESTORS INC

Diana began her career in investment management as a sell-side equity research associate at a major Canadian bank. She then moved on to become an Associate Portfolio Manager at a Calgary-based firm before joining QV in late 2017.
​
Diana’s passion is stock picking. She enjoys interacting with senior management teams across many industries to understand how good business are run. Ultimately, the reward of seeing good investment decisions benefitting clients over the long term is what always keeps Diana on the lookout for new opportunities.

Outside of work, Diana prioritizes time with her husband and two young daughters. She has a passion for international travel and enjoys reading about history in her spare time.

Jaclyn is an assistant professor for finance at the University of Calgary, as well as the President of the CFA Society Calgary. Previously, she served as Managing Director at ATB Investment Product Strategy & Investment Research, where she provided strategic direction and worked closely with both clients and external partners.
Since entering the workforce in 2002, Jaclyn has worked in various roles with large financial institutions. Her career in investment management began in 2006 when she left banking to join the Nova Scotia Pension Corporation. Her most recent role, prior to joining ATB in 2018, was as Treasurer and Director of Investments at the University of Calgary where she was responsible for overseeing the university's investments.
Jaclyn earned her CFA charter in 2011. She also has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University and an MBA from Dalhousie University.
Jaclyn has lived and worked all across Canada, and after moving to Alberta in 2014, her family settled in Calgary. Staying active in the community is one of her priorities and since moving to the city, she has volunteered with the Society and the Calgary Portfolio Management Trust program at the University of Calgary. In 2017 she co-founded the Calgary chapter of Women in Capital Markets (WCM).

Steven Paget
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY

Steven Paget is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. He joined the school after a long career in the energy and investment industries and now teaches financial management and corporate finance. He earned his Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours from the University of Calgary and completed his Master of Arts at the University of Toronto. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Before moving into academia, Steven spent nearly two decades in Calgary’s financial sector. He worked in institutional equity research at FirstEnergy Capital, covering energy infrastructure companies, and also held roles with Enbridge and the Alberta Securities Commission.
​
Earlier in his career, he worked in engineering at Renaissance Energy.
Steven’s teaching is informed by his industry experience and his interest in valuation, capital markets and the structure of Canada’s energy sector. He remains engaged with students through his focus on applied learning and the practical connections between financial theory and real-world decision making.
